Fan made
In this little corner of the internet I wanted to create some tools for the theorycrafters among us that want to get to the best we can be by fiddling with our builds and gear. So I have been creating this set of tools. It started off as an augments planner as my wife had just got her first Dart for Every Man and asked me what augments to put on it. So after some trawling for some data I built an augments planner for that. And from then, it sort of grew as I went further down the rabbit hole. And I decided that I would pop it on a website and let others use it too. I'm not after anything in return. Just a nice little community tool for us to use.
Tools
Augment Planner
You have a new wardrobe item or fancy stabby stick or gun. But you want to know how to create as much damage as possible with it? We all know this is what augments are for, so this planner lets you specify the item, the grades you have access to, and what exactly you want to optimise around. It'll then compare all the augments available and show you the best ones and where to get them. If you have not yet unlocked your second or third augment for a slot, then that is fine, it lets you specify how many augments to optimise for.
If you don't yet have the specific item and best augments, then just add them to your wishlist.
Farming
If you have a wishlist of items that you want in the game, then it's time to go farming. And the farming tool will let you know the best places to do it. You'll need to tell it what labs you farm and at what level you are happy to run at. If you are anything like me then your farming level will be a little below your current progression level so that you can run it faster and more frequently.
Leaderboard
If I am honest, once I had the core engine for calculating the best item with augments, I just wanted to see a list of them so I can get an idea of the best overall items in the game. So I created the leaderboards. Three of them for melee, ranged weapons and garments. This turned into a deeper exercise in the end as I was left wondering why the Black Market Lasgun did so well. And then realising I needed to better track all the downsides to different items in the game. So what this means is you can see a list of items ordered by what matters to you, with some key insights into them to help make choices.
Skill Trees
Oh further I have fallen down the rabbit hole and the Skill Tree and Specialisations are where I wanted to look at how to build the best skill tree to maximise damage, yet take into consideration the specialisations too. I'll be honest and say that there are probably a number of issues in this and I'd love feedback. But essentially it is trying to determine the effects of all the passives, abilities and techniques in the skill tree to determine the uptime of all the buffs you can get and then determine the damage to different weapon types. The idea being that you can then use this to optimise around builds for different weapons.
Specialisations
Specialisations are actually the foundations of your character. Locked away in this are the fundamentals to optimise the skill tree. For a start it unlocks skill points. But it also affects stagger damage, etc... So you can use this to determine your damage bonuses and skill points. And then the skill tree uses this to calculate your optimal builds.
Additionally based on your prefered weapon and skill at parrying or clicking heads versus the body, we can tell you the best path to unlock your specialisations to maximise your DPS.
Items
It's important, but not sexy. But you can look up any lab based scematic items and augments too. They are displayed in the same format as on the augment's planner. So it should be easy to see the theorycraft details quickly.
And more excitingly you can compare items and see how they really differ.
Labs
Knowing what you can get from a lab is a fundamental need. And I have a section for all the labs here were you can look up the data and filter down to the exact items you want.
About me
I'm a hardcore programmer who's been in the games industry for over 25 years, working at some large console studios through the years. I generally prefer to write low level code which is why this dune calculator is written in rust. I like it. It's modern yet low level.
In the game I'm Makkarus. I play on the EU Korona server in Sandrat sietch.
Feedback
This has not been easy and along the way I have found things like the swing timer for melee is just not well defined. So there are probably issues that need fixing. Therefore if you do spot any, please drop by my discord and let me know. I will then do my best to make fixes.
